Nathan J. Hurst - Pastor

Nathan J. Hurst married Ronda C. Layne, September 2, 1977.  They have two children, Nathaniel James and Danelle Layne.  On August 25, 2006 Danelle married Matthew Silveira of Hollister, California.  God has been good to the Hurst Family of which they are very thankful.

Pastor Hurst was perhaps a prodigy to the pulpit.  While only in his teens, his knowledge of the Word and maturity caused ministers and churches to seek after his ministry.  His speaking and people skills quickly opened many doors for him to minister in various places in the United States as well as abroad.  Those who have heard Pastor Hurst preach and teach can easily tell that he has a grasp on profound concepts and can explain them in a way that other can easily understand.

Pastor Hurst has never stopped applying himself.  He is an avid reader and student of the Word.  He attends seminars, symposiums and workshops to improve his knowledge of the Word, business and people skills.  He is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Theological Studies.  He is a man of prayer and has the gift of faith.  This is his most important quality, for without prayer and faith everything else is superfluous.

Pastor Hurst has been and continues to be a primary source of encouragement to young people entering the ministry.  His character, brilliance, disciplined lifestyle and giftedness has proved time and again that he honestly cares about helping others.

Pastor Hurst along with his wife Ronda came to Hollister in August of 2004.  The Pentecostal Church has made much progress in this time.  They have grown numerically and have moved into a beautiful facility that has been built to meet the needs of a growing congregation.  He is excited about the future and looks forward to many great things happening in The Pentecostal Church, the city of Hollister and the surrounding area.

Ronda C. Hurst - Minister of Music -

Ronda has been learning and playing music since she was 5 years old.  Ronda continues to grow musically, staying up to date with new songs and choruses of our day.  She attends music conferences and is a member of several music clubs to keep "on top of things."  She has a heart after God and is one of the best at following the leading of the Holy Ghost in a service.  She has played the organ for numerous conventions, camp meetings and youth events. Ronda is also a song writer with songs such as, "Enter Into His Gates" and "Serving God is Beautiful" to her credit, among many others.  She is putting together a dynamic music program at The Pentecostal Church.  The group "Vessels of Honor" have already been invited to sing at several special functions in the short time under her leadership.  They are a very energetic and talented group.  However their favorite place to sing is at The Pentecostal    Church on Sunday in their worship service at 2:00 p.m.  They, along with Ronda are a tremendous blessing!

Nathaniel Hurst - Assistant Pastor

Nathaniel is a great young man who's number one priority is God and closely following is The Pentecostal Church.  God has given Nathaniel a burden for the church and the Hollister Area.  He was called to the ministry at the age of 16 in a Missions Conference at his home church in Texarkana, TX in a Faith Promise Sunday Morning Service.  After everyone else had left the church, Nathaniel stayed well into the afternoon in prayer and consecration to the calling that had just been placed on his life.  Since then he has gone to college, been an evangelist and a youth pastor. At The Pentecostal Church he helps Pastor Hurst coordinate different ministries, works closely with the youth team, leads services, performs some administrative tasks and ministers in teaching and preaching.  Nathaniel is an extremely talented man that God has his hand on.  Pastor Hurst is proud to have Nathaniel as his assistant.

Christina Atkinson - Ladies Ministry Leader

Christina is one of those rare jewells in God's Kingdom.  The church here in Hollister was started in her small apartment with only a few in attendance.  Christina has been with us from the beginning and God has used her many talents to forward His work.  She is a school teacher and mom and has raised her two boys in the church.  Christina is easy to work with and our ladies rally behind her readily.  If you want to be involved with fund-raising and /or ladies outings Christina is the lady to see.  She involves as many ladies as want to be involved and you will love working with Christina.

Bridget Rodriguez - Hostess Team Captain

Want to see a happy and pleasant face?  That is what greets you when you walk through the doors of The Pentecostal Church.  Under the capable leadership of Bridget Rodriguez, the hostess team is great.  Bridget knows how to organize the hostess team and get them into action for every event that takes place.  She along with her team is the "information station" and are more than happy to assist people when they come through the doors of the church.  She is also the manager of her place of employment, a mother and wife.

Leonard Valenti - Head Usher

Len Valenti is a man of prayer and has a great love for the house of God.  His ushering staff know when to snap to it and how to get the job done.  Len is a business man and has carried his expertise of organizing over into the church.  The ushering staff takes care of numerous things around the house of God and they do an incredible job of making sure everything is in order from the very beginning of each service to the very end.  This staff shows up early and stays late.  If you need something at The Pentecostal Church just look for a man that has on the black blazer with the Usher emblem on the lapel.  They along with Len will point you in the right direction.

Tena Valenti - Sunday School Director - [Account] -

Tena Valenti is an organizer par excellent!  If you need something done just hand it over to Tena.  This is just one of the qualities that make for a good Sunday School Superintendent.  However, her greatest quality is her love for souls.  September of 2006, Tena and her family began a neighborhood outreach program.  They along with an outreach team have since handed out school back packs and supplies,  pumpkins, turkeys, blankets, Christmas goodie bags, Easter baskets, etc.  She has befriended a lot of these kids and their parents and brings many of them every Sunday to Sunday School.  Tena is the type of leader that doesn't just tell you to do it.  She gets out there and shows you how. The Sunday School Staff mirror this same attitude.  They are the best teachers and have servants hearts.  They make Sunday School so exciting and teach the word of God with understanding.

Mindy Ybarra - Daughters of Zion Coordinator
Mindy Ybarra is a wife and mother of two beautiful children.  She is the organizer of "Daughters of Zion".  This is a prayer meeting that is specifically targeted toward our children and young people.  They meet every first Monday of  each month.  Mindy is a prayer warrior and has one of the sweetest spirit's you will ever come in contact with.  She is a person in "whom there is no guile".  Under the leadership of Mindy the "Daughters of Zion" have gone to new heights and depths in prayer.  It is her desire that every child and young person in our church is prayed for on a continual basis and she strives for that goal.

Youth Leader/Youth Team - Refuge

Kirk and Tina Evans are some of the BEST people you would ever want to meet.  The Evans have a tremendous compassion for young people, and especially the youth of The Pentecostal Church.  Their passion to encourage and train them in the ways of God is tremendous.  We are blessed to have them as the leaders of Refuge.  The Refuge Youth Team works closely with Kirk and Tina to put together a very dynamic youth program.

Four GREAT guys make up our Refuge Youth Team.  Dominic Ingram, Jason Stotler, Kyle Valenti and Matthew Silveira.  These young men all have a heart after God, are men of prayer and all are soul winners.

Every other Friday Night at 8:00 they have "Friday Night Refuge".  Are you tired of the same old parties? Want something real?  Then "Friday Night Refuge" is for you!

They also put together great outings, raise funds for Sheaves for Christ, do outreach and many other activities.  The Youth is the fastest growing part of The Pentecostal Church.  If you want to be involved in any way with young people this is the place to be.
